Bakersfield Resident Arrested for Alleged Role as Darknet Vendor

Arrest Details
A 34-year-old man, Jonatan Gonzalez, was arrested in south Bakersfield on Wednesday on suspicion of federal drug charges. The arrest was made by a multi-agency task force, including the Bakersfield Police Department, Drug Enforcement Agency Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and United States Postal Inspection Service offices of Iowa and Pittsburgh.
Alleged Darknet Activities
Gonzalez is believed to have been operating as a vendor on the darknet, selling illicit substances to customers.
Seized Items
The task force served a search warrant at a residence on Hosking Avenue, where they seized a large quantity of drugs, including:
- 46.1 pounds of methamphetamine
- 546 grams of cocaine
- 2.8 pounds of black tar heroin
- 34.9 grams of fentanyl
- 513.5 grams of marijuana
- 507 pre-packaged parcels suspected of containing controlled substances

Additional Findings
In addition to the drugs, officials found $40,565 in U.S. currency.
