Dutch Woman Arrested for Sending Drugs Through Mail to Foreign Countries
A 31-year-old Dutch woman from Alblasserdam was arrested for mailing narcotics abroad. The arrest followed the interception of a suspicious package by customs officials.
The woman was taken into custody on Tuesday after a postal package was intercepted and found to contain 312 amphetamine pills.
Large Drug Quantity Found During Home Search
When authorities searched the suspect's residence, they discovered more than 2,500 pills of various narcotics, along with over 150 pills of banned medications.
Investigation by HARP Team
The investigation was conducted by the HARP team, a collaboration between the police, customs authorities, and the Public Prosecution Service. The team handles cases involving drug trafficking through postal services to foreign countries.
Boyfriend Also Arrested
Her boyfriend was also arrested at the residence after authorities found he was in possession of a firearm.
Both suspects were brought before an investigating judge on Friday. The judge extended pre-trial detention for both individuals.
