California Couple Indicted for Operating HotGirlzClub Darknet Drug Operation

Federal prosecutors have charged a Los Angeles couple with running an extensive online drug trafficking operation that distributed fentanyl and methamphetamine across the United States, including South Florida, while laundering hundreds of thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency proceeds.

Nicholas Aguilar, 44, and Jessica Marcolina, 37, were indicted by a grand jury in the Southern District of Florida on conspiracy charges related to their alleged operation of vendor accounts under the name "HotGirlzClub" on multiple darknet marketplaces.

The Scope of the Operation

According to court documents, the defendants allegedly shipped controlled substances nationwide using the U.S. Postal Service beginning as early as 2020 and continuing through their arrest. Law enforcement identified more than 500 parcels believed to contain narcotics linked to the operation during just a seven-month period in 2025, a stark illustration of the operation's scale.

The defendants allegedly distributed drugs to customers throughout the country, with specific shipments identified to Miami-Dade and Broward counties in South Florida.

Evidence Recovered

When federal agents searched the defendants' California residences, they uncovered an extensive drug operation infrastructure:

  • Distribution quantities of suspected controlled substances
  • Drug packaging materials and label makers
  • Heat and vacuum sealers for packaging
  • USPS shipping supplies
  • Warning inserts cautioning customers about overdose risks, with messages like "be safe until you know your tolerance for the product" (evidence prosecutors say demonstrates the defendants' awareness of the dangers posed by the drugs they distributed)
  • Electronic devices and fraudulent identification documents
  • Firearms

Aguilar also allegedly operated an illegal firearms manufacturing operation, producing ghost guns, suppressors, and firearm components. Agents recovered two loaded handguns and a rifle from his residence.

Money Laundering Conspiracy

Beyond drug trafficking, Aguilar and Marcolina face charges for allegedly laundering cryptocurrency proceeds from their drug sales through transactions designed to conceal the source and ownership of the funds.
